JUDGMENT / ORDER

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, to expedite the trial in P.R.C.No.11 of 2016 within the time as stipulated by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is facing trial before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, in P.R.C.No.11 of 2016 for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 341, 302, 506[ii] IPC r/w 149, 120[B] and 109 IPC. Though the said case is of the year 2016, till date, the prosecution has not produced any witnesses. Hence, seeking early disposal of the said case, the petitioner has come up with the present petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the case is of the year 2016, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, to dispose of the case in P.R.C.No.11 of 2016 pending on his file, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
