This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection for two days for the petitioner's temple Uma Kaliyamman Temple situated in S.Nos.1342, 1342/1, 2 and 3, Vadugapatti Village, Arachalur Via, Erode District, to the extent of 5.94 acres in the petitioner's patta land during the pongal festival to be held on 27.03.2017 and 28.03.2017 on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner on 20.03.2017.
2. On the allegation that the third respondent and his henchmen are threatening the petitioner that they will stop the pongal festival celebrations to be held on 27.03.2017 and 28.03.2017 with regard to the petitioner's temple, the petitioner lodged a complaint to the respondents 1 and 2 seeking police protection. Since the same has not been considered, the present Criminal Original Petition is filed.
3. Mr.Md.Riyaz, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is directed to submit a copy of his complaint dated 20.03.2017 seeking police protection along with a copy of this order to the second respondent. Upon receipt of the same, the second respondent shall consider the same and if required, provide police protection for conducting the festival smoothly, of course at the cost of the petitioner.
5. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
