JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 506(i), 379 of Indian penal Code read with Section 3(1)(s) and 3(2)(va) of SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2014 in Crime No.343 of 2014 on the file of the respondent Police, has filed this petition seeking a direction to the Principal District and Sessions Judge/Special Court constituted under S.C. & S.T. (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Thanjavur, Thanjavur District to consider his bail application on the same day on merits.
2. Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondent.
3. Heard both sides.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge/Special Court constituted under S.C. & S.T. (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Thanjavur, Thanjavur District is directed to accept the surrender of the petitioner and consider his bail application on the very same day purely on the basis of merits and to pass suitable orders, in the event of the petitioner surrendering before the said court within 15 days from today and filing of petition seeking bail.
5. This petition is ordered accordingly.
