The Commissioner Pallavaram Municipality Chrompet Chennai - 600 044 ... Respondent Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.05.2017 to change his name in the property tax records and pass appropriate orders within a stipulated period.

2. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider his representation dated 11.05.2017 to change his name in the property tax records and pass appropriate orders within a time frame.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner has given a representation dated 11.05.2017 seeking for name transfer in the property tax records, the respondent has not passed any order so far.
4. Mr.P.Srinivas, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks.
5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.05.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
