JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition, seeking a direction to the respondent to conduct a Public Meeting near Thiruthoraipoondi New Bus Stand at 5.00p.m. on 29.03.2017 or on any subsequent dates.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that he is a Public Spirited Person and also the Chennai Zone Organiser of the Organization called “The Makal Athikaram”. The members of the said Organization are working for the welfare of the society and rendering service to the oppressed and depressed section of the people in the Society. They have planned to hold a public meeting on the issues related to illegal sand mining and quarrying to save the decaying agriculture and explain the principles. In this regard, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent on 16.03.2017 requesting him to grant permission for the meeting. But, the same was denied by the respondent. Challenging the same, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.
4. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.
5. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
6. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
