Petitioner has retired from the employment of respondent no. 4 on 30.6.2020. He has approached this Court with the grievance that retiral benefits due and payable including pension etc. has not been paid to him so far.
Learned Standing Counsel representing respondent no. 1 and Sri Raees Ahmad, learned counsel for the respondent nos.2 to 4 submits that grievance of the petitioner would be examined and the amount due and payable to the petitioner would be released, expeditiously.
Law is settled that payment of retiral benefits is the entitlement of an employee for the past services rendered and is not a bounty. Such benefits cannot be withheld indefinitely.
In view of the above, this petition is disposed of with a direction upon the respondent nos. 3 and 4 to ensure that all withheld retiral benefits due and payable to petitioner is credited to his account, within a period of four months from the date of presentation of copy of this order Order Date :- 13.1.2021 Anil
