The sole relief pressed for by the learned counsel for the petitioner at the time of hearing of the writ petition is that the application filed by the petitioner under Section 28A(3) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act') should be referred to the Court It is stated that the award under Section 28A of the Act was made on 23 February 2015 and though the application under Section 28A(3) was filed by the petitioner on 16 October 2016 before the Collector, but the Collector has not referred the matter to the Court.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent states that the Collector shall examine the matter and take an appropriate decision expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months from the date a certified copy of the order is produced before him.
The writ petition is disposed of.
