Public Prosecutor ORDER These criminal original petitions have been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent not to harass the petitioners and their family members under the guise of enquiry without due process of law, on the basis of the petitioners' representation dated 26.11.2016.
2. It is the case of the petitioners that on 24.11.2016, the second respondent came to the respective houses of the petitioners and enquired about their sons stating that they were involved in the theft case. Further, the second respondent demanded a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- towards the theft amount, from each of the petitioners, failing which, appropriate criminal action would be initiated against the petitioners and their family members. Though the petitioners informed that they are in no way connected with any offence, the second respondent is frequently calling the petitioners and unnecessarily harassing them. Hence, the petitioners made an individual representation dated 26.11.2016 to the second respondent, not to harass them. Finding no response, the present Criminal Original Petitions came to be filed.
3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that no such harassment was caused by the second respondent, as alleged by the petitioners. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submitted that the petitioners are not required for any enquiry.
4. Recording the said submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the present criminal original petitions are closed.
