JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner while working as Village Administrative Officer at Pichivakkam Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk was placed under suspension on account of his involvement in a criminal case on the ground that he has committed grave irregularities in preparing the list for granting crop damage relief to the farmers affected by the North East Monsoon, 2015. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that though he was placed under suspension, it is not reviewed or revoked in the absence of Charge Sheet or Charge Memo being filed and therefore, the petitioner has filed W.P.No.32715 of 2016 and this Court, vide order dated 20.09.2016, permitted the petitioner to give a detailed representation to the respondent along with a copy of that order and the said official was in-turn directed to take into consideration the judgment rendered by the Honble Supreme Court of India in Ajay Kumar Choudary v. Union of India [2015 (2) Scale 432]and pass appropriate orders within a stipulated time.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the respondent has already sent a proposal to the Government and it was also informed to the petitioner, vide communication dated 26.10.2016 and the Principal Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, Chennai to consider the said proposal at an early date.
3. Heard the submissions of Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
4. In the light of the above facts and circumstances, the Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Fort St.,George, Chennai-9 is directed to act on the proposal/report of the Collector of Kanchipuram District in Na.Ka.No.470/2016/Aa3 dated 26.10.2016 as to the reviewing/revocation of the order of suspension passed against the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
5. With the above directions, this Contempt Petition is closed.
