Heard Sri Mahendra Pratap Singh, learned Standing Counsel, on behalf of State-respondents.
The prayer made in the instant petition is for issuing direction to the court below, before whom Election Petition No. 01 of 2018 is pending, to decide the same within a specified time frame.
A perusal of the order sheet reveals that court is lying vacant at the present point.
In such view of the matter, the instant petition is disposed of by providing that as soon as Presiding Officer is posted in the court, he shall make endeavour to decide the election petition expeditiously, by fixing short dates and without granting unnecessary adjournments.
