Heard the counsel for the petitioner.
The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus to appoint the petitioner under the Dying-in-Harness Rules in place of his father who died in 1997.
The father of the petitioner died 23 years back. The compassionate appointments under the Dying-in-Harness Rules are only to overcome the immediate financial distress caused due to the death of the employee.
In view of the aforesaid, the prayer for compassionate appointment under the Dying-in-Harness Rules is rejected. The writ petition is dismissed.
