By means of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a writ of mandamus commanding the respondent-bank to consider the claim of the petitioner for granting benefit of Debt and Relief Waiver Scheme promulgated by the State Government.
Learned counsel for the respondent-bank does not dispute the submission that such scheme is operative.
In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the present writ petition is being disposed of with the direction as follows:-
1. The petitioner shall approach the respondent-bank with an application seeking benefit of the scheme alongwith certified copy of this order.
2. In case, such an application is filed within a period of two weeks, the respondent-bank would be under obligation to consider the claim of the petitioner and make necessary recommendation as per the requirement of the scheme.
An expeditious consideration be given and recommendation be made to the competent authority, preferably, within a period of one one month from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.
