Counsel for the petitioner has only pressed the prayer for expeditious disposal of Original Suit No. 514 of 2016 instituted by the petitioner against respondent no.2. The suit is under Section 12 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner shall comply with the order of interim maintenance dated 15.7.2019. It is urged that a direction be issued to be court below to decide the suit expeditiously.
Section 21-B of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 specifically provides that all proceedings under the Act should be held on a day to day basis and effort should be made to conclude the proceedings as far as possible within six months from the date of service of the petition on the respondent. In view of the aforesaid provisions under the Act, I am of the opinion that no further direction is required.
The petition is accordingly, disposed of.
