JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to dispose of his application dated 02.05.2017, seeking Voluntary Retirement from Service.
2.By consent, this writ petition is taken for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Mr.K.Sathyasingh, learned Counsel takes notice for the respondents.
3.The petitioner, who put more than 31 years of service in the respondent corporation wants to retire from service, voluntarily, because of his health condition. To that extent, he submitted an application before the respondents on 02.05.2017, which according to the petitioner is kept pending without any action and hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
4.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.05.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
