Kruthiga vs The Government Of Tamil Nadu

Madras High Court|27 June, 2017

JUDGMENT / ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) In this writ petition, the petitioner has sought appropriate writs directing the respondents to constitute an independent committee for selection of candidates for appointment to posts of Animal Husbandry Assistants.
2.It is, prima facie, doubtful whether the relief sought for in this writ petition can be granted by this Court. There are no materials before this Court on the basis of which this Court can arrive at any definite conclusion with regard to the integrity or competence of the person named in the last paragraph of the affidavit in support of the writ petition.
3.Be that as it may, we are informed that the then Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services had erroneously followed the State-wise roster for reservation. The names of candidates sponsored by the Employment Exchanges were not in accordance with the reservation roster, that should have been followed as per the District Level roster of reservation. The authorities have, thus, decided to cancel the entire process of selection of Animal Husbandry Assistants (AHAs), which has not yet been finalised and call for fresh applications based on the District Reservation Roster, from the eligible candidates at the District level.
4.It also appears that there is a proposal to bring about an amendment to the ad-hoc rules for appointment to the post of AHAs.
5.The writ petition has, thus, become infructuous and the same stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.17296 of 2017 is closed.
