ORDER:
Heard.
2. The demand raised by the respondents for recovery of arrears of consumption charges are subject matter of W.P.No.22555 of 2008. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that while he has prepared to pay the consumption charges for the month of August, 2014, the respondent authorities and, particularly, respondent No.3 is insisting the petitioner to pay the arrears, which are stated to be due against him and which are subject matter of W.P.No.22555 of 2008 pending before this court.
3. Mr.Anand Seshu, learned Standing Counsel for APEPDCL for the respondents, who has taken instructions, fairly submits that the arrears are the subject matter of the writ petition, referred to above, and since the said writ petition is pending, if the petitioner pays the regular consumption charges, the same will be received.
4. In view of the said fair submission on behalf of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent authorities to receive the consumption charges from the petitioner for the month of August, 2014 and thereafter to receive the consumption charges successively for each month without insisting for arrears for the present. The demand so far as arrears are concerned, shall, however, be subject to the final orders that would be passed in the writ petition, referred to above. Petitioner is granted a week’s time from today to pay the consumption charges for the month of August, 2014, and then successively pay every month as and when they fell due.
As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
