The contempt petition is filed against the order passed in W.P.No.20243 of 2016 on 16.06.2016.

This Court, considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in the light of the earlier order passed by this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directed the second respondent herein to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contended that pursuant to the directions issued by this Court, the respondent passed an order on 25.01.2017 rejecting the claim of the petitioner. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that the subsequent orders favouring certain other individuals are issued in G.O.(Ms).No.290, Public (Ex-Servicemen) Department, dated 05.04.2017.
4. This Court, in a contempt petition, cannot decide the above factors on merits. The scope of the contempt petition is limited to the extent of implementation of the order passed by this Court on 16.06.2016. If by virtue of rejection order the petitioner is aggrieved, it is for the writ petitioner to work out his remedy thereafter. In this view of the matter, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken in this contempt petition.
Accordingly, this contempt petition stands closed. No costs.
