Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel for the State-respondent.
This petition had been preferred seeking a direction for the recruitment of the petitioner on the post of constable. The petitioner had claimed the benefit of falling in the category of OBC (Female) as well as a dependent of a freedom fighter. Undisputedly, the last date for submission of all testimonials was 24 February 2016. As per the instructions placed on the record by the learned Standing Counsel the original freedom fighter certificate was not produced for verification. However, this need not detain the Court since the certificate, which is relied upon by the petitioner is dated 11 June 2018 and thus beyond the last date prescribed.
According to the respondent, since the petitioner was unable to substantiate her claim for being granted benefits of being the dependent of a freedom fighter, she was treated under the OBC (Female) category alone. Admittedly, the petitioner obtained marks lower than the cut of marks prescribed for that category. After this order was passed learned counsel for the petitioner has placed reliance upon a certificate dated 12 September 2016 to contend that this certificate was in the prescribed format and was liable to be taken into consideration. However, ex facie, it is evident that even this certificate bears a date beyond the last date prescribed namely 24 February 2016.
The writ petition consequently fails and is dismissed.
