The petitioner is the owner and in possession of property in Survey No.1200/1 by virtue of a registered sale deed No.2729/2012 of Kothamangalam Taluk. The petitioner says that the revenue officials refused to accept basic tax from the petitioner stating that the petitioner has reclaimed the paddy land in contravention of Act 28 of 2008. If the petitioner has contravened any of the provisions of Act 28 of 2008 or otherwise, that will not stand in the way of authority in accepting basic tax of the petitioner's property. Therefore, without prejudice to any action being initiated against the petitioner under any provisions of law, the basic tax shall be accepted.
Writ petition is disposed of as above.
