JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the Kerala Water Authority, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioners, retired employees of the respondent Water Authority, filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent authorities to settle the arrears of pension from 01.07.2009. As could be seen from Ext.P9, the pension revision arrears statement issued by the respondent authorities, the following amounts are due to the petitioners: Petitioner No. 1 : ` 46,922/-
Petitioner No.2 : ` 34,922/-
Petitioner No.3 : ` 34,922/- (as per the submission) Petitioner No.4 : ` 80,392/-
Petitioner No.5 : ` 34,693/-
W.P.(C) No. 31580/2014 -2-
Petitioner No.6 : ` 19,648/-
Petitioner No.7 : ` 21,720/-
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners contends that though the petitioners approached the Managing Director of the respondent authorities many times, so far it has not yielded any result. According to him, the amounts have been admitted as have been quantified in Ext.P9.
In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Water Authority, this Court directs respondents 2 and 3 to settle the revised pensionary arrears due to the petitioners as have been reflected in Ext.P9 or otherwise after making necessary deductions, if any, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
