JUDGMENT / ORDER

Hon'ble Vinay Kumar Mathur,J.
The contention of the petitioner is that the building in question, which was earlier given on rent to CRPF has been vacated in the year 2002 and is in the own occupation of the petitioner. The house tax has been assessed on the basis of the rental which he used to receive when the property was let out. However, after the possession was given to the petitioner, the house tax is to be reduced in accordance with the Rules. The petitioner has made an application on 14.03.2011 before the Executive Officer, Cantonment Board, Allahabad raising objections to the bill dated 11.08.2010 for Rs. 19,440/- It may be mentioned here that the petitioner has made payment of the aforesaid bill on 16.03.2011 as per endorsement on the bill filed as Annexure 5 to the writ petition.
We have heard Sri A.K. Pandey, learned counsel for the petitioner and SRi M.I. Khan, learned counsel for the respondent.
Taking into consideration the entire facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction the respondent to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law on the aforesaid objections of the petitioner expeditiously preferably within a period of six weeks from the date on which a certified copy of this order is presented before the said authority.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioner on merits.
