By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.S.Vijayakumar, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2 The petitioner, while working as Assistant Grade II (Depot) at Pondicherry Godown, in the services of the Food Corporation of India, was proceeded with the disciplinary proceedings, which resulted in the punishment of withholding of increment, and later on appeal, the said order was set aside. It is further averred by the petitioner that criminal prosecution was also launched by the Central Bureau of Investigation and he has been acquitted. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 01.06.2016 to the 1st respondent, praying for stagnation increment, which has been received and acknowledged. However, it is yet to be given disposal. Hence, he has come forward to file the present writ petition.
3 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Vijayakumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, who, on instructions, would submit that appropriate orders will be passed on the representation submitted by the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible.
4 This Court, taking into consideration the rival submissions and the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2016, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
5 The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
