In view of the decision of the Supreme Court in Ved Prakash Garg vs. Premi Devi and others 1997(8) SCC 1 as well as 2009 (1) T.A.C. 1 (S.C.) and Kamla Chaturvedi vs. National Insurance Company and others which lays down that Insurance Company is liable to pay not only the principal amount of compensation but also interest thereon, the question of law which arises in this appeal is as under:-
Whether the Commissioner of Workman's Compensation is justified in directing the appellant to pay interest on the compensation awarded where the liability to pay the compensation has been held to be that of the Insurance Company?

Issue notice to the respondents by registered post.
Until further orders of this court no recovery of any interest amount shall be made from the appellant in pursuance to the impugned order dated 31.10.09.
