PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records on the file of the first respondent in O.A.No.763 of 2007 and dated 12.10.2007 and quash the same as illegal, incompetent and without jurisdiction and further direct the respondents 2 and 3 to appoint the petitioner in the post of GDS MD at Ramanayanikuppam Branch Post Office.

The petitioner is present in Court today. The Sub-Divisional Inspector, Vellore West Sub Division, is also present today. We have summoned the Inspector taking into account the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that in spite of about 10 years after transfer, the petitioner has not been re-transferred to the place, where he was originally working.
2. When the writ petition was taken up for consideration, the petitioner, who appeared before us submitted that he is not pressing the writ petition. He has also made an endorsement to that effect.
3. In view of the endorsement so made, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
