Order:
This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus to declare the action of the respondents, in not extending the contract pertaining to operation and maintenance of Extra High Tension (EHT) Sub-
Stations and lines in Kadapa Zone being executed by the petitioners, as illegal and arbitrary.
It is the pleaded case of the petitioners that they have been awarded with the above-mentioned contracts for the period from 01-07-2012 to 31-03- 2014 and that the contract was extended twice. It is the further pleaded case of the petitioners that as the extended period of contracts is going to expire on 31.12.2014, they have made a representation to respondent No.1, on 05-11-2014, for further extension of the same on the ground that due to certain serious disturbances on account of the agitation that had taken place in connection with the demand for the separate State of Telangana, the petitioners could not properly execute the works, as a result of which, they suffered huge losses.
Mr.S.V.Ramana, learned Counsel representing Mr.O.Manohar Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for A.P.Transco, on instructions, submitted that the petitioners’ representation is under consideration and that respondent Nos.2 to 4 are likely to take a decision today.
In view of this submission of the learned Standing Counsel for AP Transco, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent Nos.2 to 4 to take a decision on the petitioners’ representation, dated 05.11.2014, and communicate the same to them before proceeding further with the fresh tenders.
As a sequel, WPMP.No.46953 of 2014, filed by the petitioners for interim relief, is disposed of as infructuous.
