The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the appeal presented by the petitioner dated 31.03.2017 with respect to the cancellation of patta relating to the land measuring 24 cents out of 31 cents in S.No.78A/10, Vadamavanthal Village, Vembakkam Taluk, (previously Cheyyar Taluk) Tiruvannamalai District, after hearing the petitioner and the 3rd respondent and pass orders in accordance with law.
2. Mr.P.Mani, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed an appeal before the first respondent, challenging the order passed by the second respondent as early as on 31.03.2017. The same has not yet been disposed of by the first respondent.
3. Mrs.K.Bhuvaneswari, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to dispose of the appeal in accordance with law, after giving notice to the 3rd respondent.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 31.03.2017 and decide the same in accordance with law, after giving notice to the 3rd respondent, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
