Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS, to call for the records in connection with the order of detention passed by the 2nd respondent dated 13.04.2017 vide BCDFGISSSV No.28/2017 against Saravanan, Male, aged 35 years, S/o.Govindaraj, confined in Central Prison, Puzhal and set aside the same and direct the respondents to produce the body of detenu before this Hon'ble Court and set him at liberty.
For Petitioner : Mr.C.C.Chellappan For Respondents : Mr.V.M.R.Rajentran, Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R [Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to call for the records relating to the detention order passed in BCDFGISSSV No.28/2017 dated 13.04.2017 by the Detaining Authority against the detenu by name, Saravanan, aged 35 years, S/o.Govindaraj, residing at 161, School Street, Uranithangai Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District and quash the same.
2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted to the effect that the Detention Order in question has already been revoked, by virtue of G.O.Rt.No.2520 dated 29/05/2017 and a copy of the same is submitted, wherein, it is clearly stated that the Detention Order in question has been revoked.
3. Considering the above said factual circumstances, the relief sought in the petition has become infructuous.
4. In fine, this petition is dismissed as infructuous.
