The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.01.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the cultural and adventure programe and to give police protection which is scheduled to be held on 15.01.2017 in Mattu Pongal festival at Kalnachampatti Village, Pudupettai Post, Natrampalli Taluk, Vellore District.
2. Since the date, on which the event was scheduled to be held on 15.01.2017, was over, the relief sought for herein has become infructuous. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
