JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to pass an order based upon their letter dated 22.05.2013, No.20385/Ni A Pa-1/2008 within a time frame fixed by this court.
2. Heard the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. Mr.N.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Though the Writ petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to pass an order based upon their letter No.20385/Ni A Pa-1/2008, dated 22.05.2013, the learned counsel for the petitioner submit that the petitioner will be satisfied if the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.01.2016 is considered in the light of assurance given to the first respondent by letter, dated 22.05.2013 and G.O.Ms.No.151 Social Welfare Department, dated 16.10.2008, within the time framed by this Court.
5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer now sought for before this Court by the learned senior counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:-
?The second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.01.2016, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, in the light of assurance given to the first respondent by letter No.20385/Ni A Pa-1/2008, dated 22.05.2013 and G.O.Ms.No.151 Social Welfare Department, dated 16.10.2008, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.?
6. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
