Petitioner is served with Ext.P8 notice. Petitioner has been directed to pay a sum of `8,34,190/- towards royalty for mining silica. Petitioner submits that he has no land and he has not mined silica. Petitioner has raised his objection by Ext.P9 before the first respondent with a copy to the second respondent.

In the light of the contentions raised by the petitioner, I am of the view, Ext.P8 shall be treated as a show cause notice and the second respondent shall pass appropriate orders after adverting to Ext.P9 and also hearing petitioner within a period of six weeks. Till then, all proceedings pursuant to Ext.P8 shall be kept in abeyance.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
