Petitioner complains about certain illegal quarrying operation in Alakkode Grama Panchayath and Edavattey Grama Panchayath. He submitted Exts.P4 and P5 complaints to the Tahsildar as well as the Senior Environmental Engineer. The complaint of the petitioner is that no further action has been taken to stop the quarrying operation despite him filing the complaints.
Having regard to the aforesaid factual situation, I am of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of as under:
Respondents 2 and 5 shall consider Exts.P4 and P5 applications respectively in accordance with the procedure prescribed after hearing the affected parties and shall take necessary steps in this regard.
This shall be done within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
