The prayer in the present petition is to issue direction to the Licensing Authority/District Magistrate, Firozabad to decide the pending application dated 16.4.2016 moved by the petitioner for grant of fire arm licence.
As per own case of the petitioner, the said application has yet not been decided.
With the promulgation of the Arms Rules, 2016 w.e.f. 15.7.2016, it is not possible for the Court to issue any direction to the licensing authority to decide the old applications.
In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the present petition is being disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to move a fresh application completing all the requirements of the Arms Rules, 2016 seeking grant of fire arms licence. In case, such an application is moved along with certified copy of this order, the Licensing Authority/District Magistrate, Firozabad would be under obligation to consider the same and decide strictly in accordance with the said Rules.
With the aforesaid observation/direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
