Petitioners in the above cases have submitted separate applications for approval of Government approved test centers in terms of the provisions under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and the Rules framed thereunder. The complaint of the petitioners is that though as per guidelines issued by the Government on 8.10.2013 produced as Ext. P2, the concerned Director of Legal Metrology has to consider the application and pass appropriate orders and if it is refused, necessary intimation has to be given to the applicant, no action has been taken by the 3rd respondent so far. According to the petitioners, the applications were submitted as early as in November 2013 and in respect of one petitioner, in January, 2014. 2. Learned Assistant Solicitor General, however, would submit that from the records W.P(C) Nos. 12964, 12973, 12984, 12985, 12994, 12995 and 12996 of 2014, it is not seen as to whether the petitioners have served on the concerned authority the application as there is no seal in the said document. In fact, there is no endorsement that the applications had been received in the office of the 3rd respondent.

3. But, it is asserted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that these applications had been served on the 3rd respondent and it is available in the office of the 3rd respondent, but no orders have been passed so far.
4. Having regard to the aforesaid submissions, I am of the view that these writ petitions can be disposed as under:
The 3rd respondent shall consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext. P1 application in all these cases within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, along with a copy of the application.
