The goods transported in the vehicle bearing No.TN-28L- 3364 came to be intercepted by the first respondent/Intelligence Inspector by issuing Ext.P1 notice under Section 47(2) of the KVAT Act doubting evasion of tax and demanding security deposit to an extent of Rs.33,350/- This made the petitioner to approach this Court by filing this writ petition, wherein an interim order was passed on 07.03.2014 in the following terms:
“Admit. Issue urgent notice returnable in ten days to the respondents.
There will be an interim order directing the respondents to release the goods covered by Ext.P1 notice on the petitioner executing a simple bond to pay the sum of Rs.33,350/- in the event of the petitioner being held liable to pay the sum of Rs.33,350/-. The goods shall be released on the day the bond is executed.”
2. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Pleader.

It is brought to the notice of this Court that pursuant to the interim order, the goods as well as the vehicle were got released and the remaining issue is only with regard to W.P.(C)No.6430 OF 2014 2 finalisation of the adjudication proceedings. After hearing both the sides, the writ petition is disposed of directing the competent authority to finalise the adjudication proceedings passing appropriate orders, in accordance with law, which shall be done at the earliest, at any rate, within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment, of course after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
