JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsels appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
2. Though the prayer is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.5.2009, is directed to be disposed of by the third respondent, within a specified period.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents, had no objection for this Court passing such an order. However, she had submitted that the Director of Teacher Education, Research and Training, Chennai, the third respondent herein, had included the petitioner Institute in the approved list of Institutes for admitting 50 students, under the Single Widow System, in the Diploma in Teacher Training Education course for the academic year 2009-2010. She had submitted that several writ petitions had been filed by the petitioner Institute, as well as the students of the petitioner Institute, before this Court for the various reliefs. She had also submitted that in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, several unfounded allegations have been made by the petitioner Institute. For this, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had submitted that the said allegations made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition may be taken as withdrawn.

In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing for the parties concerned, without going into the merits of the case, the third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.5.2009, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 20.5.2009, to the third respondent, along with this order.
5. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P.No.1 of 2009 is closed.
