The present petition has been filed for a direction upon the licencing authority (second respondent) to consider the prayer of the petitioner for grant of licence to hold N.P.B. 32 Bore Revolver.
It is stated by the petitioner that application for grant of licence has been filed on 25.04.2017 on which no order has been passed.
Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, with the consent of the learned Standing Counsel, this petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to file a comprehensive representation before the second respondent (District Magistrate, Siddharth Nagar) annexing therewith the application moved by the petitioner for grant of licence as also the document disclosing that all formalities in respect thereof has been completed by the petitioner. If any such representation is filed along with certified copy of this order, the licencing authority (second respondent) shall call for report from the concerned section/department to ascertain whether any such application is pending or not and if it is pending he shall proceed to take an appropriate decision thereon, preferably, within next six weeks. In case it has already been decided or is not traceable the petitioner shall be informed accordingly.
