ORDER:
This contempt case is filed alleging willful disobedience of order dated 22.01.2014 in W.P.No.1215 of 2014, whereby this Court has directed the respondent to dispose of the appeal pending before him before 31.03.2014 without fail.
The respondent filed a counter-affidavit wherein he has inter alia stated that in view of the impending elections for the local bodies, hearing of the appeal could not be held and that as soon as he came to know of the order of this Court, he has fixed the hearing of the appeal and disposed of the same by a detailed order dated 09.07.2014. He has also tendered unconditional apology for the delay in complying with the order of this Court.
The respondent has filed a copy of the order passed by him in the appeal.
Mr. K. Vasudeva Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, stated that with the disposal of the appeal, the grievance of the petitioner stood redressed.
In the light of the fact that the respondent has complied with the order of this Court by disposing of the appeal, albeit belatedly, no further adjudication of the contempt case is needed.
Accordingly, the contempt case is closed and the contemnor is discharged from the contempt proceedings.
