JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.5281 of 2012 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate-XIV, Egmore, as against the petitioners.
2. The petitioners are the members of the Tamil Nadu Tawhid Jamath, an organization registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975. The case of the prosecution is that on 12.09.2012, the petitioners along with some other persons gathered near the Dams Road Junction, Anna Salai and raised slogans against the Assam Chief Minister and the Central Government for the atrocities committed against the Muslims in Assam, without obtaining any permission from the authorities under Section 41 of the Madras City Police Act. Hence, the First Information Report has been filed against them in Crime No.1447 of 2012 under Sections 147 and 188 of IPC as well as Section 41 of the Madras City Police Act and charge sheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate No.XIV, Egmore in C.C.No.5281 of 2012. Seeking quashment of the same, the present Criminal Original Petition has been filed.
3. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that all the witnesses have already been examined and arguments have been completed and the judgment alone has to be pronounced.
4. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court is not inclined to quash the impugned proceedings, but on the other hand, is inclined to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.XIV, Egmore to dispose of the case in C.C.No.5281 of 2012, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
