2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the third respondent to consider his appeal dated 15.05.2017 and direct the respondent to issue Patta in respect of Old Survey No.348 and New Survey No.149/A-1B, in Gudalur Village, Gudalur Taluk, The Nilgiris, in his name, in accordance with law.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that inspite of the petitioner's appeal dated 15.05.2017, the third respondent has not disposed of the same yet.
5. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondents submitted that the third respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's appeal and dispose of the same in accordance with law.
6. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the third respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 15.05.2017 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
