I.Vanitha vs The District Civil Supply Officer

Madras High Court|11 January, 2017

JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents to issue a new Family Card to her.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that her husband viz. Subramaniyan made an application to the 2nd respondent on 26.07.2011 seeking issuance of a new Family Card, by enclosing requisite documents. But, no action was taken by the respondents on the said application. While so, her husband passed away on 04.09.2016. Hence, the petitioner sent a detailed representation to the respondents on 24.11.2016 seeking issuance of a new Family Card in her name, by enclosing her husband's Death Certificate and the Birth Certificates of her children. Since her request is not considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents available on record.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and dispose of the same within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
