Petitioners have approached this Court seeking to release their vehicle bearing Reg.Nos. KL-17-C-7600, KL-05-N-20, KL- 40-F-846, KL-40-F-8988 and KL-07-BD-5612. The vehicles were seized on the allegation that the vehicles were attempted to be used for offence under the Kerala Mines Minerals (Regulation of Development) Act, 1967. 2. It is needless to state that the petitioners have an option to compound the offence by depositing an amount of Rs.25,000/- each which has been granted by this Court in various cases. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of as under:
The petitioners are permitted to compound the offence by depositing an amount of Rs.25,000/- each as compounding fee with the requisite application before the 3rd respondent and on receipt of such fee, the vehicle shall be released forthwith.
