The petitioner has been granted arms licence by the Licensing Authority, Allahabad for the territory of Uttar Pradesh. The petitioner seeks extension of the license to territory outside the State of U.P.
The petition prays for a direction upon the District Magistrate/Licensing Authority, Allahabad for the said purpose.
According to the learned Standing Counsel, the power to grant licence outside the territory of State vests in the State Government and therefore a direction cannot be issued to the Licensing Authority/District Magistrate, Allahabad for such extension.
Under the circumstances, the petitioner is at liberty to move an appropriate application before the State Government for such purpose.
With the aforesaid liberty, the petition is disposed of.
