Heard learned counsel for the parties.
By means of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction to the respondent no. 2 namely the District Magistrate, Bareilly to decide the application dated 15.3.2018 of the petitioner for grant of firearm licence pending before it within stipulated period.
To this prayer, learned Standing Counsel raises no objection.
Be that as it may, without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the present writ petition is being disposed of with the direction to the District Magistrate, Bareilly to decide the application dated 15.3.2018 of the petitioner for grant of firearms licence, expeditiously, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.
It goes without saying that this Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. The competent authority shall apply his own mind with the application independently and take a decision on merits.
