JUDGMENT / ORDER

Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the first respondent to renew the revolver license bearing License No.M/45/464/98. It is seen that the License issued to the petitioner had expired on 31.12.2013 and the petitioner is making periodical representation for renewing the licence and the last representation was made on 07.10.2016.
3. Whether the petitioner is entitled to such renewal or not, is for the first respondent to consider and decide. This Court, at this Stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the first respondent to consider the request of the petitioner dated 07.10.2016, seeking for renewal of license and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
