On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.122/2017 on 17.03.2017 under Sections 294(b), 352, 506(ii) IPC against one Murugadoss and two others. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.122/2017 and file a final report within a time bound manner.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondent.
3. Mr.P.Chinnadurai, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Lalapet Police Station is present before this Court.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the accused are very well roaming in the area and that the police are not taking any action to arrest them.
5. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the accused has been granted anticipatory bail by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD) No.3403/2017 on 23.03.2017.
6. In view of the fact that the FIR has been registered only on 17.03.2017, the direction as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be granted. However, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.122/2017 expeditiously and either file closure report or chargesheet, as the case may be, after due intimation to the petitioner.
With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
