Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel and Sri Mishra holding brief of Sri Kunal Ravi Singh for respondent no.1.
The only grievance of the petitioner is that although he has filed an appeal under section 19 (3) of the Right To Information Act, 2005 before respondent no.1 on 22.03.2017, despite lapse of almost one year, his appeal has not been decided.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has made a prayer that respondent no.1 be directed to decide his appeal within a specificied period.
To the aforesaid prayer, learned counsel for respondent no.1 has no objection.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits, we dispose of this petition with direction to respondent no.1 to make every possible endeavour to decide the petitioner's appeal pending before him since 22.03.20017 as expeditiously as possible preferably on the next date fixed or in any case within a period of three weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
