The contention of the petitioner is that his Date of Birth was wrongly entered in the Birth Register maintained by the respondent as 13.6.1976 instead of 16.3.1977. In the said circumstances, the petitioner approached the respondent along with a copy of the SSLC Book for correction of his Date of Birth. The captioned writ petition has been filed on being aggrieved by the delay in the matter of consideration of Ext.P4 representation carrying such a prayer. There is no dispute with respect to the fact that the respondent is the authority competent to consider such a request. If that be so, the respondent cannot disuse the said power and he is bound to consider Ext.P4 representation and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law. In that view of the matter, without making any observation as to the merits of the contentions, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider Ext.P4 representation and pass appropriate orders, in accordance W.P.(C) No. 19367 of 2013 2 with law, expeditiously and at any rate, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
