Petitioner retired from the employment in U.P. Jal Nigam on 31.10.2018, from the post of Head Clerk. His grievance is that amount of gratuity, leave encashment and arrears of salary, etc. have not been paid. It is contended that payment of retiral benefits is a right of the employee for the services rendered and such amount cannot be withheld indifferently.
Sri Pawan Kumar Mishra, holding brief for Sri Pranjal Melhotra, learned counsel for U.P. Jal Nigam, states that the claim of petitioner shall be got examined and all dues payable to him shall be cleared within a period of four months from today.
In view of the stand taken by learned counsel appearing on behalf of U.P. Jal Nigam, this petition stands disposed of with the direction upon the Corporation and its officials to act in terms of their undertaking and ensure release of withheld dues of petitioner along with simple interest at the rate of 6% from the due date within a period of four months from today.
