JUDGMENT / ORDER

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that rent agreement was only for the period of two years. The copy of the agreement is Annexure-1 to the writ petition. Therefore, the demand of stamp duty treating the agreement in perpetuity is wholly unjustified. He has already deposited 1/3rd of the demand. He further submitted that the order has been passed ex-parte.
Learned Standing Counsel prays for and is granted two weeks time to file counter affidavit. Rejoinder affidavit may be filed within one week thereafter.
List thereafter.
Till the next date of listing, the realization of demand shall remain stayed.
