Respondents THE HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE SRI KALYAN JYOTI SENGUPTA AND THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION NO.11504 OF 2014 ORDER: (per the Hon’ble the Chief Justice Sri Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta) This writ petition is dismissed as we find that there is no reason to interfere with the same at this stage by reason of the fact that the petitioner has filed his nomination to contest the ensuing Assembly Elections.
We cannot be an astrologer nor the petitioner is permitted to become an astrologer whether his nomination would be rejected or not. It is the absolute power of the election officials to decide this matter. The Court cannot interfere with the same even if it is anticipated to be rejected.
The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
Consequently, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
